<p>Social Media Usage Characteristics Among Youth

<p><b>Abstract
</b></p>
<p>Nowadays, social media can be used in many areas of our Daily lives, and the emergence of social media has been
realized by switching from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0. Web 1.0 was the period when communication was unilaterally. When the
use of the Internet increased in the Web 2.0 era, communication was mutual and consumers were able to comment and
criticize. Many social media applications have emerged in which personal information, thoughts, pictures and videos can be
shared. Social media applications are used more actively by youngsters, tough addressing to all age groups. It is also
thought the use of these applications differed by education. A survey was conducted with 225 students to examine how
social media usage in this framework changed according to the level of education. In the questionnaire applied to the high
school, undergraduate and undergraduate students, the frequency of use of the social media platforms and the purposes of
which these platforms were used examined. This study attempted to determine social media usage characteristics among
young people.
